Bud & Nectar Review

When it comes to the wide selection of Licensed Producers and their products on the market today, rarely do you have companies shine through. While there are great options available in that wide selection, finding bud that hits every aspect of craft quality is difficult. Thankfully, we have companies like Bud & Nectar out there putting every little bit of effort into their flower as they can.

Though small, the quality coming from them is a breath of fresh - or dank if you will - air.

Having had the chance to talk with one of the owners, Marc, we were given insight into their practices and the expectations with their company and its products. Marc himself is a long-time consumer, having started as a social smoker before cannabis became a part of his lifestyle, something he relies on for well-being. His and his partner's expectations are a reflection of such a lifestyle.

A huge aspect that sets them apart from other growers is the fact that they do not rely on genetics available to other producers on the market. Instead, each strain is the result of pheno-hunting through thousands of seeds sourced from across the globe over the last several years.

Having never prioritized THC percentages, something that most cannabis companies are trapped in due to the state of the industry, the focus is instead on the appearance and aroma, the search for the perfect terpene profile.

Marc pointed out to us a Hightimes article, Is the THC % Game Rigged?and indicated that it voiced a lot of his own feelings about the expectations and disappointments of THC in cannabis. That a lot of what is available only focuses on percentages, sacrificing the entourage effect; how terpenes and cannabinoids work together to create those superior and intricate highs. Bud & Nectar doesn’t hunt for numbers, they hunt for the best forms of flower they can produce, creating wonderful and unique experiences for consumers.

We were made aware that if the flower didn’t hit every aspect they were expecting, they would move onto another batch. Marc has watched their Master Grower pass up beautiful, potent buds just because the aroma he wanted wasn’t present. The expectation, again, is every box being ticked. Aroma, appearance, effect, moisture content, and more, they are wholly focused on the perfect strains with the perfect highs, all while not worrying themselves with the number game trapping a lot of growers today.

Their core values are honesty and the assurance of providing top quality products to consumers; values that are extremely apparent in the flower they produce, consumer feedback we have received, and our interactions with the company itself.

While newer to the industry, having popped up on the market at the end of 2025, Bud & Nectar looks to capture their audience with high quality cannabis. The aim is to be known for amazing quality at a fair price, a smart choice for connoisseurs by offering top-shelf standards while respecting your wallet and the craft itself.

“We like to use the comparison of wanting to be known as the yellow banana on the shelf—the perfect, vibrant pick that still holds a great smell as opposed to an over-ripe banana that has either been sitting in an LPs vault for a long period of time, or has been grown in unfavourable conditions and/or irradiated and has a hay like smell.”

The aim is to get it into stores as fresh and as beautiful as possible, and my goodness they have achieved this. Usually packaged in clear, see-through bags, their promise of unfiltered honesty is apparent as they “only bag what we are proud to smoke ourselves,” Marc tells us.

Having had an opportunity to try the current House Indica strain offering, a Rainbow Truffle x Koffee, it can honestly be said that they have accomplished what they set out to do.

Bud & Nectar’s Rainbow Truffle x Koffee

Boasting beautiful purple hues and absolutely frosty and defined trichomes, it has an aroma reminiscent of coffee - with a sweet overtone and a tangy finish.

The high experienced was intricate and multi-leveled, the aroma lingering even after a toke. With a creeping feeling of relaxation as it spreads throughout the body, giggles slowly resounding in the livingroom, and a side of the munchies. The effects are a heavy, sedative high that has the best of us melting into comfort on the couch while watching the newest season of Daredevil.

Bud & Nectar has proven that amazing options are available; and that the care and attention we saw years before legalization are still present in today’s market.
